Simone Heng is a human connection specialist and award-winning author. She is also a former international broadcaster for, among others, Virgin Radio Dubai, HBO Asia, and CNBC. She is one of the youngest female Certified Speaking Professionals in the world.
With over fifteen years of experience as a communicator on air, on stage, and one on one in different countries, connection has always been her life’s work.
As a speaker, Simone inspires people to connect in a world thirsty for connection. She has spoken to thousands, and often for Fortune 500 organizations. Her clients include Harvard University, Google, Meta, Amazon, ByteDance, KPMG, Spotify, Salesforce, SAP, Lucasfilm, the United Nations, and many more. Simone and her work have been featured on CNN and in Forbes, Al Jazeera, Harvard Business Review, TEDx, Vogue, Glamour, LinkedIn Learning, BBC Radio, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar, among others.
Simone is based and was born in Singapore but has also studied in Switzerland, was raised in Australia, and worked in the United Arab Emirates. She has a communications and cultural studies degree from Curtin University of Technology.
Her latest book “Let’s Talk About Loneliness” is published by Hay House and available globally. It is the winner of the 2024 silver Nautilus Book Award in the social change and social justice category. It is also a finalist in 4 categories at the 2024 International Book Awards. Simone also sits on the advisory board for the Foundation for Social Connection in the United States.
What drives you to work on addressing social isolation & loneliness and fostering social connection?
Having experienced the pain of lack of belonging and isolation through losing my father quite young and then caring for my mother when she was paralyzed made me realize that connection was the answer to so much pain in the world. More people need to learn about how loneliness isolates us further.”
