Communications & Public Affairs Intern

Position Description:

Interns will work closely with Foundation and Coalition Leadership and Staff to support the social isolation, loneliness, and connection (SILC) body of work in various capacities. Interns must enjoy working in a small but growing office that is results focused. The ideal candidate exercises good judgment in a variety of situations, delivers quality work under deadlines, and balances their everyday responsibilities with covering breaking news. Additionally, they are effective written and verbal communicators and possess strong administrative and organizational skills. Interns will report to the Communications and Programming Coordinator, Shannon Vyvijal.

Hours:

Flexible depending on the applicant’s student enrollment status, with a commitment of 20-30 hours per week. Applicants can work remotely and/or in our DC office. U.S. based position.

Interns would be expected to contribute substantially to our communications strategy across our Social Isolation and Loneliness body of work.

Compensation:

Interns should expect competitive compensation commensurate with experience and level of coursework. Actively enrolled graduate students can expect school credit, if relevant, in addition to or in lieu of financial compensation.

Further, the small size of our office provides many opportunities to work directly with high-level staff, develop relationships, and network in D.C. with important stakeholders in health policy, technology, providers, and payors.
