Dr. Matthew Lee Smith

Professor, Texas A&M University School of Public Health

Dr. Matthew Lee Smith is a Professor in the Texas A&M School of Public Health.  As an evaluator, interventionist, and methodologist, his research addresses health risk across the life-course and the dissemination of evidence-based solutions for older adults. In addition to developing measures to assess social disconnectedness, his translational work bridges research and practice issues across the health care sector, aging services network, and public health system.

Dr. Smith received his bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education and Master of Public Health (MPH) from Indiana University-Bloomington and his doctoral degree in Health Education from Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), certified mediator, and certified Community Health Worker Instructor (CHW-I).
